Welcome to our Melksham Oak Sixth Form Admissions page, where you will find all relevant information to support you to apply to become Sixth Form Students in September 2024. We welcome applicants from the current school and those currently attending other secondary schools.

How to apply
Please fill in our application form to apply. Please remember to complete all details requested with the form. This includes ranking the courses you wish to select in order of preference by numbering the subject choices 1 to 6, with 1 being your first choice.
Please complete and submit your form by Wednesday 10th January. All students who apply for the Sixth Form will be interviewed and supported with their course choices.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend the two day Sixth Form Induction during the Summer Term of 2024. This is designed to support students to make a successful transition from GCSEs to their chosen Level 3 courses.
Entry Requirements
Maths & English Language GCSEs
Students are required to have a minimum grade 4 or above in Maths and English Language. Some subjects will require a higher grade due to their course content.
Level 3 courses
A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, with some individual subjects requiring a Grade 6 or 7 due to the increased level of challenge at Level 3. The entry requirements of each subject are in the Prospectus.
General
More importantly, a student's place on any course is contingent upon the ability to meet deadlines and show a level of competence and ability to achieve a pass grade in the subjects being studied. All students are expected to show independent learning skills. To this end, each student's work is reviewed in each subject at regular intervals.
