We are extremely proud to have appointed Billie and Lily as our Head Students. As Head Students, they become an integral part of our school community by being positive and supporting influences on our younger students. They will also help our Senior Leaders by leading our School Council and supporting with the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors within the school. They, along with the Sixth Form Leadership Team will support organising and represent the brilliant events the school will host throughout the year.
Together the Student Council meet regularly with Mr Brown to discuss various issues that impact the lives of everyone here at Melksham Oak. All tutor groups have a student representative who is a voice for their peers and then pass on questions, suggestions and comments for us to talk about in more depth.
Every two weeks we have discussions and input around one of the following themes;
- Environment
- Inclusion and equality
- Enrichment
- Bullying
- Behaviour
- Teaching and lessons
- Well-being
We have termly meetings with senior staff, who find time for us and listen so we can pass on our suggestions.
