Year 8 Experiences of the Workplace: 9 December 2025
On 9 December 2025 Year 8 students were off timetable exploring workshops and experiences from a range of employment sectors on rotation for the entire day. These included Construction, Childcare and Education, Tax and Finance, Grounds Management, Automotive, and Media Make-up. There was something for everyone! Workshops and exploration sessions were delivered by volunteers from a range of companies, educational and training organisations.
The students took part in practical activities, from bricklaying and roofing to media and makeup blood in a bottle’, from charades exploration games to child care planning.
Year 8’s were a credit to our school, whilst learning new skills and exploring new workplaces for their future pathways. They discovered a range of careers that they may not have otherwise considered, it was a fantastic day.
If you work for a company that you think could get involved in our career events, assemblies and workshops, please do contact me, Ceri Tranter, Head of Careers Education [email protected]
