Mr Stephen Clark – As a school we would like to wish all the best to Mr Clark on his retirement. Mr Clark joined the school as Head Teacher in 2006 and was instrumental in moving the school forward in every sense.
It was Mr Clark’s drive that saw the school move to the incredible facility it has now. In doing so he drove a change in ethos in students and staff which developed a school that the community can be truly proud of. This can be measured both by the year on year improvement of the results that our students received, but just as importantly in the range of opportunities that were given to our young people. Mr Clark has been tireless in his desire to improve the school at every level. He has never wavered from this in spite of the many challenges that exist in both the educational and political environment. Put simply he has always put the students at the centre of every decision he has made. We hope you will join us in wishing all the best to Mr Clark for his tremendous work for our school, our students and our community.
Mr Owen Vince – Mr Vince joined us as an Assistant Head in 2010 and quickly made himself indispensable with his understanding of figures and was duly promoted to Deputy Head. Mr Vince was responsible for driving the school forwards in the forensic way he analysed key information and provided the creativity and knowledge to push us to keep improving our results. This drive was not just constrained to the classroom and it was Mr Vince that led the way in creating our 6th Form rugby academy in association with Lewis Moody and Mad Dog. Mr Vince has secured himself a new and exciting challenge in education, and we would like to wish him all the best in his journey. His calmness, acumen and student oriented approach will be missed by all of us at Melksham Oak.
Senior Leadership Team – As a result of these changes we have appointed a number of Interim Assistant Principals to support us this year. Over the course of the academic year we will be formally advertising and appointing new Senior Staff so that we can get the very best individuals to continue to drive us forwards as a school.
Mrs Penny Boyce – Mrs Boyce joined us in 1998 and has been incredible in her support of the school most recently as our Cover Co-ordinator and Finance lead. Mrs Boyce is retiring to focus on the good things in life, namely: her husband, travel and birdwatching. We want to thank her for her loyal and committed service to the school and wish her all the best in her retirement.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs McCafferty and Mrs Butler for their commitment to the school. They are also moving on to new opportunities and we wish them all the best. We would like to welcome the new generation of staff: Mrs Morris who has joined the MFL Department, Mr Shore who is joining the Science Department and Mr Hamdia who is joining the English Department. We are really excited about you joining our wonderful staff team.
