We have been busy in the library this month creating an imaginative display to celebrate International Library Month with the ‘Let’s Imagine’ theme at the forefront of our minds.
Students can visit our Discovery Centre and imagine going back in time and experience life on a Native American Indian reservation. Supporting the Key Stage 4 history curriculum, students can independently explore the range of books, display information and artefacts to enhance their class studies and gain a greater understanding of the plains Indians way of life, migration and early settlement, the problems of lawlessness in the early towns and settlements plus ranching and the cattle industry.
Also we are celebrating ‘On Your Mind October’. We have bought an exciting, wide selection of fiction books to support cultural diversity including books that explore Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender topics. To complement our ‘Shelf Help’ section of the library we have displayed ‘On Your Mind October’ facts and information including useful contacts to support students who may be seeking advice, support and more information about LGBT.
