Become a Governor at Melksham Oak

5 May 2021
Become a Governor at Melksham Oak

We’re looking for friends of the school, parents, and staff to join our Local Governing Body.

Why should I become a governor?

If you care about education in your local area, working as a governor on our LGB will give you the opportunity to provide a unique viewpoint to help support and challenge our leadership and management in improving education at Melksham Oak Community School.

Whether it’s as a parent, a member of staff, or a friend of the school with skills they wish to bring to the school, a diversity of expertise and viewpoints is invaluable for our school governance.

What will I be expected to do?

All governors have equal status and share the goal of supporting and challenging the school to fulfil its aims and ambitions for all children and staff.

Meetings are held six times a year and we would encourage non-staff governors to visit the school at least two or three times a year to learn about and monitor their chosen area of interest.

How can I apply?

We are currently looking for governors from three different categories: Staff, Parents, and non-parent friends of the school.

If you are interested, please make contact with the school through the email below and we can provide you with more information:

[email protected]

More details about the staff and parent governor roles can be found in the attachments below.
