"Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts." Albert Einstein
In the 21st century we are faced with increasingly challenging and complex issues. New technologies allow us to create life, to interact easily with people on the other side of the world, to kill hundreds of thousands with just one bomb.
The subjects that make up the Personal Development Curriculum: Religious Education; Personal Social and Health Education and Citizenship deal with the development of young people as rounded human beings, increasingly becoming aware of themselves as individuals and of their place in the wider community.
At Melksham Oak Community School we challenge students through stimulating resources and varied activities to reflect, discuss, evaluate and to make decisions. They learn up-to-date information and views about a wide range of topical issues and they develop their own values and opinions in response to these.
Personal Development – valuing what can’t be counted!
