Cover Supervisors

We have a dedicated team of Cover Supervisors who work closely with all staff to cover lessons for absent colleagues, whether through illness or planned absence.

This minimises the impact on students when their regular teacher is not in the room, and ensures a great degree of continuity in their education. Our cover supervisors are as committed a group as any other members of staff, and collaboratively plan lessons with teaching colleagues to provide all our students with learning opportunities which contribute fully to their progress.

I have been a Cover Supervisor for 4 years and in that time have seen many changes. The school has gone from strength to strength and I have really enjoyed being part of a thriving, progressive school.

I enjoy my role immensely as it is very varied and challenging.

I am originally from Hertfordshire but did spend some time in America. I now live locally and in my spare time enjoy exercising and attempting to dance and sing - much to the amusement and embarrassment of my husband and son!

I started working at Melksham Oak in January 2013 following a six year break from education. During that time I was a support worker for people with physical disabilities, a job I loved and found very rewarding. Before that I worked at Westbury Junior School after gaining my degree from UWIC in Cardiff. Teaching and working with young people has always been my passion and I was very excited about the opportunity to try my hand in secondary education. It has been a very positive move for me and I am very proud to be a member of the MOCS team.

My home life revolves completely around my family. I live in Trowbridge with my lovely partner and our three wildly energetic children who keep me very busy! We enjoy lots of family days out, we particularly love Longleat, and have a very cute little dog who likes long walks in the woods. When I do get time to myself I enjoy reading and love sharing my love of English with my students.

I started working here in April 2014.   My previous jobs include working as a Personal Trainer and Aerobics instructor.  I live in Trowbridge with my husband who is in the armed forces.

I really enjoy being a Cover Supervisor at M.O.C.S as I get to work with all the year groups and get to help in a variety of different subjects.  In my spare time I love to keep active and to go on holiday.

I joined Melksham Oak at the beginning of 2017 after a desire to change careers took a hold of me and as the first step to reintegrate myself into the educational system as I look to progress. Prior to here I was a manager at an outdoor education centre and also had a stint working with Lacrosse England.

I’ve always enjoyed working with young people and have a wealth of experience coaching and training that I’m looking to bring to help a variety of students and subjects. When I’m not working I can be found being active or travelling around to see new things!
